Michael Jackson: Who Was the Man in the Mirror?

Michael Jackson is remembered as the King of Pop, and is a renowned incredibly talented singer and dancer. His style, music and dance moves are celebrated worldwide. He was a one of a kind performer and once in a lifetime entertainer, but few people really know the man he was behind the mask and and the man that the media portrayed him to be. From the age of 5 and up until his last days, the pressure that was put on him was enormous and it had serious repercussions on his physical and mental health. His success was overshadowed by child abuse allegations, and his addiction for prescription drugs and plastic surgery. The show reveals who was the real Michael Jackson, the deeply conflicted man, the man that never really grew up, the man in the mirror.

By meeting his former comrades in combat, the film follows the journey of Yves Mathieu, anti-colonialist in Black Africa then lawyer for the FLN. When Algeria became independent, he drafted the Decrees of March on vacant property and self-management, promulgated in 1963 by Ahmed Ben Bella. Yves Mathieu's life is punctuated by his commitments in an Algeria that was then called "The Lighthouse of the Third World". The director, who is his daughter, returns to the conditions of his death in 1966.

Los Pascoleros - Tarahumaras 85

This film was shot during Easter 1985. It shows the preparation and staging of the Passion in the village of Norogachic, Mexico. The initiation rites of two Pascoleros, filmed for the first time, form the center of this document.

In 1831 African American slave, and preacher, Nat Turner lead a bloody slave revolt in Southampton County, Virginia. It was a fight against the enslavement of African and American people of color who longed for freedom from tyranny. This one-hour doc follows Roger Guenveur Smith as he travels to Southampton County, Virginia to take viewers on a physical journey through the town, fields and farms where Turner lived, fought, and died; along the way meeting with academics, locals, and descendants to peel back the layers of one of the most misunderstood Americans in history. In addition to candid discussions on historical and contemporary racial tensions, Roger asks us to consider why Turner is not lofted up across America as an early black revolutionary figure who helped to shape the nation.

Whore

Putta (Whore) follows the story of three prostitutes living in the town of Foz do Iguaçu, on the triple border between Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay. The film traverses the complexities of each of the three prostitutes personal lives’–from transexuality to family and motherhood–in the context of the brothels and streets in which they work.

Daan is used to stand in front of a camera. Growing up, it was his father's camera, world-renowned photographer and filmmaker Ed van der Elsken. Now it's the camera of his good friend, Joris Postema. Together with him Daan tries to get control of his life by confronting his father posthumously. Daan believes his father - who he takes after more than he'd like - is mostly to blame for his mental problems. By means of photos, film footage and meetings with family members and friends, Daan tries to fathom what his father has passed on to him and he makes a surprising discovery.
