sononda is the first part of the short film series future past perfect and was originally recorded in 2006. the series whose single fragments are supposed to be parts of a larger scale film project is designed as a row of conceptually independent movies that document nicolai's focus of interest of the respective year of origin and also builds up on the results of the movie(s) before. despite sononda's visual quality seems artificial at times, it was shot in a natural environment. the focus is directed on the sculptural quality of light. the correspondence of both music - with its low frequency modulations and merging soundscapes - and light play on the curved surfaces of the sculptural stone formations create an ever-changing atmosphere of concrete and abstract appearances.

War Horse: The Real Story

The truth about the million British horses that served in World War I is even more epic than Steven Spielberg’s War Horse feature film. This documentary tells their extraordinary, moving story, begining with the mass call-up of horses from every farm and country estate in the land. Racing commentator Brough Scott tells the tale of his aristocratic grandfather General Jack Seely and his beloved horse Warrior, who would become the most famous horse of the war. The British Army hoped its illustrious cavalry regiments would win a swift victory, but it would be years before they enjoyed their moment of glory. The truth about the children of Greece

The film was shot by the DSE (Democratic Army of Greece) in 1948. The filming took place in Grammos and Vitsi, an area that the DSE had under its control during most of the Civil War (the so-called "Free Greece") and in the adjacent communist countries, Hungary and Czechoslovakia. It was first shown in Hungary and then in the other member countries of the "communist Paradise". The original film, which was considered lost for many years, was located in Hungary a few years ago. The subject of the film is "Child-Rescue" (or "Child-Rescue" as the KKE calls it).
