Melanoma My Love, smartly and constantly shifting somewhere between documentary and fiction, is a breath-taking drama. The film is based on the true story of the Israeli actor Yigal Adika and his wife Orit, who suffered and died of cancer. Yigal, a personal friend of the directors, plays himself in the film as Uzi and by doing so re-enacts this special period in his life. His wife is a ballet dancer and teacher. She is thirty and has been diagnosed with melanoma. With the help of her husband and doctors, she is able to believe in a favourable outcome and fights her illness to the end. The film closely follows this fight by concentrating on the two loving people, their tender relationship and the effect the situation has on the whole family.

Brides

Nutsa, a young mother, lives with her two children in a suburbs of Tbilisi in Georgia. Her partner Goga is in prison. They get married, so she gains the right to talk to him once a month in the visiting room on the other side of the glass. The ceremony is quick with a strange ambiance. The Shining Arc

On a cold night, psychology student Liu Kai took Jing Huan, a paranoid schizophrenia patient, to a mysterious frozen lake she had often dreamed of. During an internship at a psychiatric hospital, Liu Kai’s classmate Xie Ni, who was in a relationship with him, became interested in Jing Huan, a former factory cashier who developed mental illness after embezzling funds. Xie Ni wanted to study Jing Huan’s condition for a thesis and asked Liu Kai to help her, even arranging for Jing Huan to stay at her home.

In December 1937, during the Second Japanese-Sino War, a Chinese doctor, his Japanese pregnant wife, their teenage daughter and their young son travel from Shanghai to Nanjing seeking shelter in the Capital during the Japanese invasion. The family faces the Rape of Nanking by the Imperial Japanese Army, with rapes, mass murder of prisoners of war and civilians including women, children and elders, and disrespect of international conventions.
