Currently it is impossible because they are not recognised as a UN nation and therefore the team is focusing on Island Games - The Islands mini Olympics. The Football pitches in Greenland are covered with ice and snow for the most part of the year which means they only have six weeks of training and preparation for the tournament. Despite the tough conditions Greenland are aiming for winning Island Games, meanwhile the football association of Greenland are fighting behind the scenes to become a recognised nation amongst the UN. This is a true David and Goliath story about bureaucracy and big football business, which meets national identity, passion and ambition.
