But the Indians jump out and attack them. There is great loss of life, but they are finally repulsed.

Although he cannot identify Helen because they are masked, Kirby suspects that his date is his ex-wife and arranges for another meeting in which he asks Helen to remarry him, and she agrees to make him her second husband.
