"17" is a social exploration into the lives of young women who are passionate about a sport they have been told was only for men. The film follows the Jordanian under-17 women's football team as they prepare for the FIFA U17 Women's World Cup Jordan 2016. Coming from different backgrounds, each of the girls has faced a different set of challenges as a national team player. But now they come together to face their biggest challenge yet.

Made in Bletchley

Made in Bletchley is a short documentary portrait of Bletchley Boxing Community Hub, a grassroots club in Milton Keynes where discipline, dignity, and belonging are sparred for as hard as any title. Through the eyes of its founder, its young boxers, and the families in the corner, the film captures a community that refuses to let its kids fall through the cracks. 10 million athletes play basketball every year. Of that 10 million, only 900,000 will play high school basketball. Of that 900,000, only 5,000 will play college basketball. Of that 5,000, only 96 college basketball players will be drafted each year. This documentary wants to focus on athletes and their families, as they go on the journey of trying to make it to that level.

Althea Gibson’s life and achievements transcend sports. A truant from the rough streets of Harlem, Althea emerged as a most unlikely queen of the highly segregated tennis world in the 1950s. Her roots as a sharecropper’s daughter, her family’s migration north to Harlem in the 1930s, mentoring from Sugar Ray Robinson, David Dinkins and others, and fame that thrust her unwillingly into the glare of the early Civil Rights movement, all bring her story into a much broader realm of the American story.

The 1958 finals, held in Sweden, saw the emergence of a new superstar in Pelé. This 17 year-old wonder player led the Brazilians to a final triumph over the host nation 5-2.

Viva Brazil

Chile was the venue for the 1962 finals, where holders Brazil were expected to regain their crown. The host, Chile, took them all the way in an epic semi-final, but the classy Brazilians eventually beat Chile 4-2 and went on to beat another surprise package, Czechoslovakia, 3-1 in a one-sided final.

Argentina, as hosts in 1978, were under great pressure to succeed. Amidst passionate supporters, they progressed to the finals with a wonderful blend of attacking football and tough defending. The unlucky Dutch, now lacking Cruyffs' sublime skills, were the fall guys once again in the Final, losing 3-1 in a classic clash of styles. This 1991 reedited version omits controversial interviews from the 1978 original "Copa 78 - O Poder do Futebol", while also including additional television footage of the tournament and newly dubbed English narration instead of the original Spanish.

Secretariat's Jockey, Ron Turcotte

Produced by the National Film Board of Canada, this heartfelt documentary follows Hall of Fame jockey Ron Turcotte as he returns to the people and places that mark his life, providing a rare behind-the-scenes glimpse of this resilient and legendary jockey. Few jockeys have won America's Triple Crown of Thoroughbred Racing. Only three have won in the last 65 years. Ron Turcotte is one of them. In 1973, this legendary rider from New Brunswick, Canada piloted Secretariat, the greatest racehorse of all time, to victory and acclaim in the sport's three most prestigious races. But a fall in 1978 left Turcotte a paraplegic and put an end to an illustrious 16-year career.
