A movie about something that only could happen at night in Buenos Aires
Víctor Tellez is an intellectual, world-weary film critic who prefers to think in French and eschew the clichés of romantic movies...until he finds himself living a sappy, feel-good love story of his own.
It is the year 1998 in Buenos Aires. Chino just turned 21 years old. He is an introverted young man who lives in a small apartment maintained by his parents. He left his Architecture career a few months ago and since then he has spent his time watching films of any kind in different cinema clubs. He lives with Franco, a young man a few years older than him who works on a supposed science fiction film with which he plans to win a contest. He spends his days filming inside the apartment with his camcorder while acting out scenes from the supposed script in a somewhat ridiculous way.
Dean has been stumped for some time in his attempt to produce a follow-up to "I was a Teenage Speed Freak," his incredibly successful graphic novel. His fans expect great things from him and his editor, Louise, is hounding him. Instead of working, however, Dean spends his time searching for his Argentine lover Pablo, who went out one night for cigarettes and never came back.
