I Miss Korea

Miss Korea is For those who miss the taste and memory of Korean food, the cast of Miss Korea visit them in a foreign country and, in exchange for staying in their place, the eight members of the cast cook the menu the host misses the most. With local ingredients and the limited number of items the members are allowed to bring from Korea, they’re requested to make tasty Korean food that lives up to the host’s expectations. What makes Miss Korea more entertaining is that the eight members are divided into two teams and compete with each other. Each team leader can choose whom they want to work with, and the others must win the team leaders’ hearts with their secret items. Some of the cast has knowledge and experience of cooking whereas some may not be familiar with cooking. Under these conditions, will they be able to make the dish and satisfy the host? Otoko Meshi

University student Wakamizu Ryota (Emoto Tokio), who is the middle of job hunting, gets caught up in a sudden gang dispute. Ryota’s life is saved by Yanagiba Ryuichi (Namase Katsuhisa), the boss of Yanagiba-gumi, and Ryota for some reason ends up harbouring Yanagiba in his own home. Ignoring Ryota who wants him to leave immediately, Yanagiba uses the leftover food in the fridge and starts to prepare a meal without asking. However, the meal is surprisingly delicious despite the leftovers that did not seem possible to combine. This is the beginning of a bizarre communal life connected by meals for a gangster and a university student.

Using the theme of food, "Tenshi no Wakemae" depicts Kurumi's journey as she turns her life around.

Wok with Yan was a Chinese cuisine cooking show starring Stephen Yan. The show was first produced in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada by the CBC at CBUT from 1980 to 1982. A second edition of the show was also produced in the early 1990s. The popular series was syndicated internationally in United States, Philippines, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore for years. The humorous aprons also complemented his humour that consisted of spontaneous one-liners spoken with his trademark Cantonese accent or him playing with his food or cookware. That, combined with his energetic personality, endeared him to Canadian viewers. Prior to him preparing his stir fry cuisine, the show usually featured a vignette of Yan travelling to different vacation spots from around the world. He always invited an audience member to come up and eat with him near the end of each episode, and had a fortune cookie reading before the meal.

Kitchen Impossible

The special thing about this unusual cooking competition: In each episode, the two top chefs decide in which country the other chef must complete his difficult task. After arriving in the respective country, the two competitors are served the favorite dish of his regular guests by a local chef in the black "Kitchen Impossible" box. They then have to prepare the dish they tasted in the kitchen themselves to the best of their knowledge and ability, copying it as precisely as possible. The highlight: In "Kitchen Impossible" both the exact recipe and the list of ingredients remain a secret for the two chefs.
