&AUDITION - The Howling - is a 2022 Japanese and South Korean boy group reality survival show created by HYBE Labels Japan. It premiered on July 9, 2022 and broadcasted every Friday at 11 p.m. KST on Hulu.

PRODUCE 101 JAPAN

Japanese entertainment conglomerate Yoshimoto Kogyo and South Korean entertainment company CJ E&M will co-produce “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN”, based on the reality television talent competition franchise popular in South Korea and China. This Japanese spin-off follows 101 trainees with the intention of producing an 11-member boy band, with members selected by viewers.

I-LAND

I-LAND (아이랜드) is a South Korean boy group reality survival show produced by Mnet and organized by Belift Lab, which at the time of airing was a joint venture between entertainment companies CJ ENM and HYBE. It premiered on June 26, 2020 and broadcasted every Friday at 11 p.m. KST on Mnet. A second season, I-Land 2, was expected to premiere in the first half of 2022 featuring female trainees; however, on July 15, 2022, it was announced that it would be postponed. Instead in 2023, HYBE partnered with JTBC to produce R U Next? featuring trainees who would debut in Illit, signing with Belift Lab, becoming labelmates with Enhypen. On July 24, 2023, Mnet announced the second season titled I-Land 2: N/⍺, not in affiliation with Hybe or Belift Lab, featuring female trainees. The show started airing in April 2024, and is collaborating with The Black Label, with the final lineup debuting in WakeOne.

NO.MERCY

A survival show made of 12 trainees from Starship Entertainment, home of K.will, Sistar and Mad Clown. They compete against each other in order to form a new hip-hop group.

BOYS24

BOYS24 is a 2016 reality boy group unit survival show. It is a large-scale project in which the units of a selected number of members will be produced from a pool of 49 free-agents. 28 trainees, instead of the planned 24, were selected as Boys24 members and were divided into four sub-units who held concerts three to five days a week in rotation for a year. After the 1st Semi-Final, Unit Black debuted as a promotional unit for three months. The final eight winners debuted together on October 26, 2017 as IN2IT.

Idol School

Idol School is a reality girl group survival show. The program aims to form a 9 members girl group out of 41 female participants, training them in singing and dancing in the span of 11 weeks.

The Unit: Idol Rebooting Project

Idols who failed to impress the audience after their debut are given another chance to be back on stage in The Unit. Korean top producers will give them a chance to shine in a brand new unit with new members, concepts and content. (Contestants credited here are sorted by final rankings.)

MIXNINE

On MIXNINE, YG Entertainment’s Yang Hyun-suk will visit management agencies across Korea to scout idol wannabes with potential and help them become stars. 400 trainees will be on the show, and in the final stage of the competition, nine male and nine female trainees will compete. They will be competing against each other as a boy group and a girl group, and the winning team will win the name of “Mix Nine”. Unlike most idol survival programs, which makes the contestants compete from the very first episode, MIXNINE will start with the stage in which the staff picks the contestants. The first half of the show will be “Enter Tour Step” and the second half “Competition Step”.

A2K

America2Korea, or A2K, is a 2023 survival show created by JYP Entertainment and Republic Records aiming to create the first American girl group trained through the K-pop system. It premiered on July 13, 2023 on YouTube.

B:MY BOYZ

B:MY BOYZ aims to create a new global boy group. The show will feature 30 talents selected from Korea, Japan, China, Thailand, and beyond, with the goal to debut as the next generation idols. The participants will compete against each other in various fields including vocals, performance, and producing, with the current top idol seniors selecting the next idols.

Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern

Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern is a travel and cuisine television show hosted by Andrew Zimmern on the Travel Channel. The first season debuted on Monday, February 26, 2007 at 9pm ET/PT. Bizarre Foods focuses on regional cuisine from around the world which is typically perceived by Americans as being disgusting, exotic, or bizarre. In each episode, Zimmern focuses on the cuisine of a particular country or region. He typically shows how the food is procured, where it is served, and, usually without hesitation, eats it. Originally a one-hour documentary titled Bizarre Foods of Asia, repeated showings on the Travel Channel drew consistent, considerable audiences. In late 2006, it was decided to turn the documentary into a weekly, one-hour show with the same premise and with Andrew Zimmern as the host. In 2009, Zimmern took a break from Bizarre Foods to work on one season of the spin-off Bizarre World.
